Streams shouldn't disappear when the campaign ends.

Streams shouldn't disappear when the campaign ends.

Playlist placements can generate streams. But streams alone don't create discovery momentum.

Decode Labs combines playlist discovery, audience acquisition, and engagement-focused growth into a framework designed to increase popularity score and algorithmic exposure.

The result is a release that can continue generating listeners after the campaign is over.

Popularity score is one of the clearest indicators of discovery momentum.

While streams can be purchased, popularity score reflects how audiences actually engage with a release.

That's why Decode Labs is built around measurable popularity score targets rather than stream guarantees.

frequently asked questions

frequently asked questions

What is a popularity score?

Popularity score is a metric used by Spotify to measure the relative popularity of a track. While the exact calculation isn't public, it is influenced by factors such as listener engagement, retention, saves, repeat listening, playlist activity, and overall audience demand. At Decode Labs, popularity score serves as the primary outcome metric because it reflects discovery momentum more accurately than stream counts alone.

Why do you focus on popularity score instead of streams?

Streams can be generated through many different sources and don't always indicate meaningful audience engagement. Popularity score is a stronger indicator of whether a release is building momentum and gaining algorithmic confidence. That's why every Decode Labs engagement is structured around a measurable popularity score target rather than a stream guarantee.

How does the money-back guarantee work?

Every engagement includes a clearly defined popularity score target. If the agreed target popularity score isn't achieved within 28 days of the campaign, we'll refund 100% of the engagement fee.

How do you measure popularity score?

We use submithub and SongStats to measure Popularity Score. Progress is monitored throughout the engagement and included in all reporting provided to artists.

What reporting will I receive?

Every artist receives regular performance updates throughout the campaign. Reporting includes key discovery metrics such as popularity score progression, listener growth, algorithmic streams, playlist performance, and other relevant indicators of discovery momentum.

Can I apply with an unreleased song?

Yes. In fact, unreleased releases are often the strongest fit for the Decode Labs framework. The earlier momentum can begin building, the greater the opportunity to influence discovery outcomes from release day onward.

Can I apply with a song that is already released?

Yes. We'll review every application individually and determine whether the release is a good fit for the framework. While we can work with existing releases, unreleased songs generally produce the strongest outcomes.

How does the application process work?

Submit your release through the application form. We'll review the music, current audience signals, release strategy, and overall fit. If we believe we can help, we'll recommend the most appropriate popularity score target and next steps. If we don't believe the release is a fit, we'll tell you.

How long does it take to receive a decision?

Most applications are reviewed within 24–48 hours. If additional information is required, we'll reach out directly.

Do you accept every artist?

No. We only work with releases that we believe have the potential to generate meaningful momentum. This allows us to maintain a high success rate and focus on outcomes rather than volume.

Do I need an established audience?

No. You don't need millions of streams, a record deal, or an established fanbase. What matters most is whether the release has the potential to generate momentum. Every application is evaluated individually.

What genres do you work with?

We focus on electronic music. Mainly Afro House, Chill House, Dance, Deep House, Tech House, Bass House, EDM, Piano House & similar styles.
